The Kleinhennersdorfer Stein is located on a plateau about four kilometers southeast of Königstein and about two kilometers south of Bad Schandau. At the foot of the are the small towns of Kleinhennersdorf and Papstdorf.

Two of the most famous collapse caves in Saxon Switzerland, the Lichterhöhle and the Hampelhöhle, are located on the south side. In 1461 the Kleinhennersdorfer Stein was first mentioned in a document as the Heynersdorfer Stein. Around 1870 the Königstein resident Friedrich Herrmann Hempel began the commercial mining of sandstone, which was crushed and ground and sold as abrasive sand to inns and soap factories. On December 17, 1918, Hempel lost his life when a rock collapsed.

There is no signposted path leading to the Kleinhennersdorfer Stein. An ascent along a narrow path is possible from the saddle on the south side.

Inconspicuous from the outside, but worth while walking through the rocks

The Kleinhennersdorfer Stein is a rock in the front Saxon Switzerland. It is located near the village of Kleinhennersdorf. The rock has several paths, all of which have no signage. That makes the whole thing much more adventurous. There are also some prospects, you just have to find them. However, this is often a challenge in itself.
