From the north you can reach the plateau of Pfaffenstein the fastest way over the bottleneck. The path consists of about 600 unevenly high steps and is so narrow in its upper section that no two people can find space next to each other. Also, the 1897 developed path towards the end is so steep that the climb must be made on permanently installed iron ladders. You pass through a horizontal, quite narrow rock hole - just a needle eye.

It's steep and dogs have no place here.

In the west, however, the so-called "comfortable way" leads upwards.

You should bring some basic fitness here, the ascent is crisp.

The more difficult climb leads through the eye of the needle. A certain basic level of fitness should be present.

With a heavy backpack or a child on your back, it gets adventurous. Otherwise, this is really a nice tour.

For hikers with dogs, this climb through the end of the ladder and the narrow passage is not recommended.

The bottleneck is on the path. The climb is very steep and is characterized by many steps, a few ladders and a few narrow points (such as the bottleneck). This requires good fitness and sure-footedness. But the ascent is fun!

Great descent, but also usable as an ascent. Not recommended for dogs.

Exciting ascent with a lot of variety and z. B. For children well feasible and little boring.

A short, sweaty ascent, highly recommended.

A real highlight on the descent from Pfaffenstein. Please take off the backpack - because with a backpack you get stuck. :)

The name does justice to the rock column. :) It feels like being in a bottleneck.

The stairs, rock bridges and ladders are always something special, as well as the bottleneck. It's getting damn tight ...

For the first time in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and overwhelmed by the unspoilt nature. Absolute natural spectacle.

The ascent through the bottleneck to Pfaffenstein I find the best and safest option. It's just fun to climb the stairs.
    Pure Adventure.

Very narrow, steep and therefore somewhat more difficult path. Challenges fitness and is therefore not for everyone. But there is also the “comfortable way”, which is really called that way, up.

Grasp at the very top reveals the name of the path. Only the same wanderer is the thread that must not be too thick to fit through.
