The castle was built in 1250. Today the keep is 35 meters high, which was renovated in 1975 and made accessible and can be used as a lookout tower. From here you have a wonderful view over the Waldachtal.

It's hard to believe that this amazing attraction was destroyed by mindless vandals. It was always a bit of an adventure to climb the spiral staircase in the dark. I can still vividly remember the construction and excavation of the inner castle and the farmyard in the early 1970s by archaeologists from the State Monument Office. The municipality invested a lot of work and money in the iron spiral staircase to guarantee visitors a beautiful view. Who knows if the 35-meter-high keep will ever be opened again.
