In the Fahner Höhe area, 35 moss communities were identified, 17 in the Hirschgrund nature reserve and 10 in the Haken nature reserve. Epilithic communities on limestone play a minor role and are usually only found sporadically on the steeper northern slope, where limestones occasionally cover the moss communities of the Fahner Höhe on the forest floor.
