The Château Saint-Ulrich (530 m) is the largest and best preserved of the three castles of Ribeauvillé. The château was built around the middle of the 13th century on a promontory and was successively enlarged, of which the most striking is the extension of a wing, consisting of two large rooms arranged one above the other and a double row of 7 semicircular semicircular windows at the side are illuminated.

Very well preserved ruin that can be visited extensively. Even the keep is accessible. Beautiful view on the plain and the town of Ribeauvillé, as well as on the opposite castle Guirsberg.

Well-preserved castle ruins, in which one can feel transported to the Middle Ages. Here you can understand a lot. With children a nice highlight

For me, the most interesting of the three castles is the Chateau St. Ulric, because from there one has the most beautiful view

One of the most beautiful castle ruins of Alsace. The Romanesque architectural style is still very well preserved. Around 1084 a "castrum Rapoldestein" is mentioned. The ruin today dates from the period between 1200 and 1230.

Great tour. We are high on the Way of the Cross outside the village. From there to the 3 castles. Down to Riebeauvile and back through the vineyards. Very beautiful!!!

Ortisei is the best preserved and the most impressive of the three castle ruins. From here and also from the slightly lower castle Girsberg you have a fantastic view. The castle Hohrappoltstein is another 100 meters higher. Lt. a sign is forbidden to enter the ruin, however, on 01.10.2017 the gate was open and some visitors have ventured despite the warning on the tower.
The castle ruins are a popular destination. Even during the week there was a lot going on here in moderate weather. Therefore, if possible do not visit on weekends and "The early bird catches the worm." :)
