The Volkspark Hasenheide is one of the green lungs of Berlin. As a link between Neukölln and Kreuzberg, it offers Berliners plenty of space for relaxation and recreation. A little gem especially for children is the Neukölln zoo on the edge of the park. In a small facility you can find Sheep, chickens and goats. Behind a fence, but still clearly visible, you can admire delicate fallow deer or delicate white storks. In addition to domestic animals, there are also pets from all over the world in the Hasenheide, such as donkeys from the Mediterranean and non-spitting llamas.

Hiking
The Hasenheide has everything you could ask for in a park: narrow paths between old trees, wide avenues along the sunbathing lawns, ponds, rose gardens, 2 large playgrounds and even an open-air cinema and mini zoo. Unfortunately, Hasenheide is also a reflection of the city's socio-economic problems in the form of drug dealers and homeless people. Definitely recommended during the day (if you ignore the dealers, they'll ignore you too), but not at night.
