Before 1700 there was a half-timbered house in the center of the city. The former town hall was then replaced by the impressive baroque building. In the years 1903 to 1905 the tower was added, which is still the most striking feature of the baroque building today. Together with other historical buildings, the town hall forms the old town of Verden, where you can stop in a café or just stroll.

"The town hall was built in Baroque style from 1729 to 1733. The characteristic tower, built in the style of historicism, was added in 1903. Stylistically in contradiction to the façade of the town hall, in the 1970s there was a demolition of the then dilapidated building Turmes discussed, but the citizens of Verden could not imagine their town hall without this tower.
