About Panter Paul
May we all walk and cycle in beauty!

The great September weather made this possible and made for a wonderful day. At the end of the day I was allowed to dock with Dietrich and his tour of Bremen…

The big father and son tour around the Szczecin Lagoon.
3 days, approx. 450 km with an overnight stay outdoors. My first bikepacking tour in a long, long time. And my very first night under a tarp. That worked out well, but the sleep was only mediocre. Especially falling asleep in the unfamiliar surroundings…

I'm kind of speechless, a more detailed description may follow. There were simply too many impressions on this 2-day hike from Einödsbach up to the Waltenberger Haus, then via the Heilbronner Weg to the Kemptner Hütte. A special thank you must definitely go out to the super nice team up there in the…

Easy tour always nice and flat along the water, apart from the steep end. But that's unavoidable when you live up here at a secluded altitude. Can live, or better: may live. You wouldn't want it any other way. Down in town, that wouldn't be for me at all.
After a violent storm during the night, the Stillach…

Wonderful hikeable Wildental where cyclists are undesirable. And yes, I like that. There is nothing nicer than simply walking and thinking or, in the best case, not thinking at all and marveling at the beautiful landscape.
There is then nothing more stupid than constant cyclists or people pretending to…

First real up and down day hike of the holiday. A round of Auenhütte over the Walmendinger Horn - Ochsenhofer Heads - Schwarzwasserhütte, back to Auenhütte. Our highlight is the section over the Ochsenhofer Heads. A narrow ridge with lots of greenery, herbs and pine trees, where you sometimes have to…

Easy-going introductory hike with fantastic views over the Walsertal and far into the high Alps. Rounded off with a cool swim in the Freibergsee. But that was also necessary given the temperatures of 33 degrees. And amazingly, everyone still has sore muscles the next day. Incidentally, the way to the…

Summer vacation is a hiking vacation and that means a break from cycling. The mountains are just not my riding territory. But dreaming is allowed and the long haul is calling again! Dream or nightmare, that is the question.

Now it's that time again and Christmas is approaching again. But we don't want to know anything about that yet, do we? Sunrise was 4:59 am and I was mentally ready to worship the rising sun. After sitting by the fire for way too long that evening, this wasn't an easy start though. But what a beautiful…

A short and very slow journey into the blue. Even though it was difficult for me to let chattering e-bikers pass me by, there is no reason to complain. A ride with a friend in times of distress is definitely a gift. Ultimately we headed towards Worpswede, but the church of St. Jürgen in the boggy wasteland…
