Bike Touring Highlight
Verden is a 1000-year-old city worth a little time. To give you a first overview, you cycle best in the district of Hönisch, where you can enjoy a great panoramic view of the city from a viewing platform. Afterwards you will be spoiled for choice: you can look at the beautiful cathedral, visit the German Horse Museum or explore the magnificent manorial farm in the middle of the beautiful old town. If you expand your radius of action, the historic cultural asset Ehmken Hoff in Dörverden is a worthwhile destination. Or how about a trip on the Museum Railway from Verden to Stemmen? At least it does not get boring in Verden.

Verden (Aller) [feːɐ̯dn̩] (Low German Veern) is the county seat of the district of Verden in Lower Saxony and an independent municipality. The city is located in the middle Weser region on the Aller just before its confluence with the Weser. As the center of horse breeding and equestrian sports, it bears the nickname Reiterstadt. The addition of "Aller" was naturalized at a time when in the German-speaking area for the French city of Verdun also the name "Verden" was in use. The city name comes from "ford" or "ferry". The city was conveniently located on a ford through the Aller, near an important trade route (Wikipedia).
