Kippenburg Castle

At the Kippenburg there are very nice circular routes and in summer, like every year, a great month with festivals

In earlier times there was a castle on the Godelsberg, and there lived a Count von Kipp, who owned everything that could be seen from the battlements of the castle: meadows, streams and forests. The nobleman also had seven sons, six of whom fought bravely against the Turks in the East; Only the youngest stayed at home so that his father wouldn't be too lonely. The count, as often happens, became arrogant and proud in his wealth and looked down on the townspeople and farmers with contempt. Therefore he was shunned throughout the area and everyone avoided him.

The Aschaffenburg City Guard has been celebrating its well-known and popular Kippenburg Festival here every year since 1965. In 2020 the 54th Kippenburgfest was canceled due to the corona pandemic.
