A small chapel dedicated to St. Anna was built in 1744 on the site of what used to be the only entrance to the town. The construction was an expression of gratitude that during the pilgrimage on July 26, 1742, the enemy French troops in the war for the Austrian heritage had spared the city and not plundered it. The happy ending of the siege was attributed to St Anne's advocacy. In the past, this baroque chapel was decorated with sculptures, part of which is now housed in the museum in Sokolov.
