The highest elevation in Rheinhessen, at 358 m above sea level, is called Kappelberg and is located in the Rhenish-Hessian Switzerland, more precisely in the "Vorholz" (Forewood). It is a clearing, meaning there is no long-distance view from here. In addition to the summit cross, there are several benches with tables for a rest.About the name: A chapel is said to have stood here until the Middle Ages.
