Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Over 800 steps take the 170 meters down from the fire to the Tiefen Grund. The steep path along the high cliffs is an adventurous highlight for any tour in this area.

Once you have climbed the 800 or so steps, you can enjoy a great view of the surrounding Saxon Switzerland from the Brandbaude. In order to get up there, however, a good level of fitness is required.

For the fire levels you need good condition, both up and down! (Hiking sticks are definitely recommended here)

We hiked off with our dogs from the parking lot Hohnstein at the station. The view is fantastic. Thus we bypassed the steps.

Good condition is a prerequisite here. Only suitable to a limited extent for dogs, there are steel mesh steps in the middle!

The ascent of the 850 fire steps (partly metal, partly wood) leads to the fire hut. There you will be rewarded with a great view and you can use the Brandbaude as a refreshment stop

The view from the fire is excellent. Personally, however, the paths with stairs are not convenient for me and, as with every attraction, the square is overcrowded. But whoever is there should still go to this place because of the view.

Good physical condition is mandatory. But after the really hard ascent, the reward in the fire hut tastes twice as good!
