From 1790 the Kampmann family operated a Ruhr ferry here, which was replaced by a pontoon bridge in 1895. From 1951 to 2016, a reinforced concrete bridge "temporarily" connected the Heisingen and Kupferdreh districts after the pontoon bridge was destroyed in the war. When the load-bearing capacity of the temporary bridge deteriorated more and more, it was finally blocked and demolished. The present cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 173 m (including the preliminary bridge) has been standing since December 2019. The pylons are 27 m high. They carry the main bridge with a navigable width of 20 m.More info:

Absolutely wonderful crossing after copper turning. Thanks to the new bridge, it is very relaxed for all participants as there is plenty of space.

Despite the masts, it is "relatively" steep
