Bike Touring Highlight
From 1790 the Kampmann family operated a Ruhr ferry here, which was replaced by a pontoon bridge in 1895. From 1951 to 2016, a reinforced concrete bridge "temporarily" connected the Heisingen and Kupferdreh districts after the pontoon bridge was destroyed in the war. When the load-bearing capacity of the temporary bridge deteriorated more and more, it was finally blocked and demolished. The present cable-stayed bridge with a total length of 173 m (including the preliminary bridge) has been standing since December 2019. The pylons are 27 m high. They carry the main bridge with a navigable width of 20 m.More info: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kampmannbr%C3%BCcke
