Directly above Poppenhausen is the impressive Crucifixion group from 1768. It is connected to the Stations of the Cross leading up from the village.

Slightly above it stands the Catholic mountain and pilgrimage chapel of St. Mary on the Stone, dating from around 1735. It commemorates the plague 100 years earlier in 1635. After a wayside shrine was erected here in 1639, it continued to develop into a special sacred site.

A distinctive feature of Calvary Hill is the impressive Crucifixion group, which offers a magnificent view of Poppenhausen. At the end of the Stations of the Cross is the stone chapel, built in commemoration of the plague in 1736. The lovingly designed Mary's Grotto is particularly worth seeing on Calvary Hill.
