The station is part of the Meeder Legend Trail, funded by donations. The project aims to visually demonstrate the experiences of ancestors to future generations and bring history back to life for the present and future.
Here in Ottowind, too, the "mysterious legend" about the headless rider between Ottowind and Oettingshausen was often recounted. Perhaps it actually happened that the deceased fetched the nasty gravedigger after the dance, after he had mocked her in the grave.
The entire legend can be read on a plaque.
