The Alte Bürg (Old Castle) is the remains of an early medieval hilltop castle on the western flank of the Eichelberg near Weißenburg.
"The castle remains still show a partially 3.5-meter-high rampart crown above a moat base, as well as a moat with two further ramparts after 100 meters, one of which contains 2-meter-thick rampart wall remnants. A 2.7-meter-thick wall forms an arch that separates the inner castle from the outer castle and still shows post slots. A memorial stone with a false assumption bears the inscription "Remains of a Roman Castrum" and dates from the early 19th century. (Wikipedia)
