About Uschi unterwegs 🌈🥾🥾

Just in time for Christmas Day, the weather also decided to embrace the festive spirit. So I spontaneously opted for a short walk around the neighborhood. I headed up one of my local hills, the Rohrberg. Reaching the Schafberg, I was greeted by views of the wind turbines of the Höhenberg/Oberhochstatt

The hike began on the northern edge of Pfalzpaint, a small village in the Altmühl Valley. I quickly passed through the village, and soon the only significant climb of my route took me up the Streitleite ridge to a high point above the valley.
For the most part, I followed more or less roughly gravelled

I had actually planned something longer for today, but the thick, persistent fog made me really not feel like driving. So, it was back to the short loop around town. Halfway up the Schafberg, two friendly hunters in high-visibility vests explained that my planned route towards Rohrberg was closed for

Today, a shorter leg-stretching walk right on my doorstep. On the outskirts of Niederhofen, I first headed up the Schafberg. I can't really recommend the terrain up there. I had to crawl under several pasture fences (illegally?) until I finally found a muddy, passable path that allowed me to cross over

The starting point for my hike today on unnamed paths was the southern edge of the small village of Massenbach near Ellingen (Weißenburg), right on the B13. Immediately after crossing the road, I headed south between expansive fields and meadows towards Weimersheim. The wide view under the open sky stretched

My route today was wedged somewhere towards the Monheimer Alb, between the Schmalzgraben plain and the B2 highway. In between, I had pieced together a varied mix of gentle ascents and descents, typical of the Alb landscape.
The first half of my tour, starting at a small pond near the village of Rehau

Due to a lack of time combined with irresistible sunshine, today's hike was just a short, uneventful one, winding through fields, open plains, and patches of forest. I was already on the B13, and the starting point was practically on my route.
My loop took me between the village of Theilenhofen on the

Today, I definitely wanted to head into the forest. Just enjoy this golden light amidst ochre, bronze, and gold-colored foliage once again before the forecast storms and gusts strip the branches bare. I was in luck; the weather, light, and atmosphere were just right!
I had chosen the Kressensteig trail

My goal today was the summit of the Bockberg near Harburg. The Bockberg is located on the southeastern edge of the Ries crater and, at 562 meters, is one of the highest elevations in northern Swabia. It is part of the characteristic hilly landscape that makes the entire Ries rim a beautiful hiking area

Today, almost as an afterthought, I enjoyed a simple, family-friendly circular walk of about 2.6 km, easily manageable on wide, gravel paths. The route is also suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. The area around the Ingolstadt Auwaldsee (floodplain lake) is a recreational area close to the city
