Tips
  • Hard to recognize after the conversion. The hut has felt quadrupled, sanitary facilities are no longer as cramping as in earlier times.

  • Climate-friendly mountaineering base at the foot of the Zugspitze. Great place to stay overnight and stop for a break. The area around the hut is also ideal for a rest.

  • The cabin is amazing. The food and staff was great. Only a bit expensive, but not much

  • Strength program for inexperienced. Again and again I have seen people and especially children who did not wear proper footwear. Irresponsible!

  • Even after the season end still worth a visit, very different and lonely as in summer.
    But attention:
    - Bridges are partially dismantled, you can not get to Kreuzeck or Osterfelder
    - The whole way is very shady despite the sunshine at this time of the year
Also, the Höllentalklamm is too, you have to go back and forth on the Stangensteig (sure-footedness and vertigo required, not recommended for ice or snow)

  • Hut awarded with the environmental seal of the Alpine clubs, which was completely renovated in 2014/15. The renovation was very successful, the range of food and drinks is modern and delicious. The prices are slightly higher than usual, which is probably due to the costs of the higher ecological standard. I am happy to accept that.

  • Great place for a break on the mountain tour, large outdoor terrace, service was super quick and food and drinks were very good, with a dog on the terrace no problem at all! I can absolutely recommend the hut and there are great views of the surrounding peaks for free :-))

  • Newly built. € 71 per night in a room (16 sqm) with 8 mattresses on two bunk beds - including a very good 3-course dinner and breakfast menu. € 5.50 wheat beer, light € 5. Very clean and well-kept. No power connection in the room. We had 1 window.

  • The route through the Höllentalklamm is worthwhile. Then a break with drink and essence - the portions are plentiful, the prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Enjoy the views and then go back - day tour successful!
