The main square in the oldest part of the city. In the 14th century, the first town hall building was built in the middle of the square. At the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, the old town hall building was demolished and a new town hall in the classicist style was built in its place. Part of the north-western frontage and the building on the corner of the market square and Adama Mickiewicza Street on the south-eastern front have not survived to this day.
