The Lengede cable car mountain was built between 1917 and 1927 as an overburden dump for the Sophienglück-Mathilde ore mine. The overburden was pulled onto the dump using a cart and a cable car. Today there is a viewing platform from which you have a good view of the area. With a height of 157 meters, it is the highest point in the Peine district.
