From the Keilberg view you have a wonderful view of the Baruth glacial valley and overlook the Jüterbog wilderness area in its vastness and beauty. There are boards ready to inform you about the wilderness development of the area.

The area has been declared a nature reserve by the state of Brandenburg. There is a path requirement in accordance with the nature reserve ordinance:

In addition, the area is under European protection as a flora fauna habitat area and (SPA) bird sanctuary. The Brandenburg Natural Landscape Foundation owns a large part of the area and protects it permanently for wilderness development. This means that no more interventions are taking place on a large part of the area.

Please be considerate of nature in the wilderness area. This means:
- For your own protection, only use the secured hiking trails that have been cleared of ordnance and are marked.
- Watch out for hanging branches, dead trees and avoid the area during thunderstorms, strong winds, ice, heavy rain or risk of fire.
- Keep your dogs on a leash.
