Bunker of the Wehrmacht in today's nature reserve. With a beautiful view of the moor
All around there are more bunkers.
December 5, 2016
This bunker is located on the site of a former military training area and in a nature reserve. The official hiking trails must not be left. Various dangers can emanate from the areas outside the designated paths, in particular from explosive ordnance and ammunition parts, structures in danger of collapsing and underground facilities. The old bunkers in particular now serve as a habitat for rare bats. Yet another reason not to enter them. The area has been declared a nature reserve by the state of Brandenburg. There is a path requirement in accordance with the nature reserve ordinance:
bravors.brandenburg.de/verordnungen/nsgforstzinnaIn addition, the area is under European protection as a flora fauna habitat area and (SPA) bird sanctuary. The Brandenburg Natural Landscape Foundation owns a large part of the area and protects it permanently for wilderness development. This means that no more interventions are taking place on a large part of the area. Please be considerate of nature in the wilderness area. This means:
- For your own protection, only use the secured hiking trails that have been cleared of ordnance and are marked.
- Watch out for hanging branches, dead trees and avoid the area during thunderstorms, strong winds, ice, heavy rain or risk of fire.
- Keep your dogs on a leash. If you are interested in wilderness development and want to find out more about the area, then visit our website: stiftung-nlb.deWe also offer themed tours in our wilderness areas and our staff can give you exciting information about bats and other species in the area.
All information about hiking trails and our online event calendar can be found under the following link: stiftung-nlb.de/de/wildnis-erleben
