Below the viewing platform you are a lot closer to the glacier and it looks even more impressive. In contrast to the platform, it is also much quieter/more relaxed here, as not everyone makes the journey down. Clear recommendation when visiting the Bettmerhorn. 👍

Along the way we meet this puppet on a movable bar with a sign that invites us to all the attention of the case and to keep the dogs on a leash as there are grazing sheep.

Here you can see a slight ascent to the Aletschhorn, but unfortunately the only base, the Mittelaletschbiwak, was destroyed by an avalanche a few years ago.
