Several firn fields flow together at Konkordiaplatz and form the Great Aletsch Glacier. In 1990, the ice there was at least 900 meters thick.

We were at the Aletsch Glacier last September 2022 and before that at the Konkortiahütte in 2003. Frightening how the whole glacier has changed. But always very impressive impressions.
