Trail No. 6 Cañadas del Teide

From the visitor center at El Portillo, the worthwhile No. 1 trail heads toward La Fortalezza. Shortly after, No. 6 branches off to the left and leads gently uphill to Mt. Blanca. This is an easy but beautiful hiking trail with magnificent views of Teide. Absolute highlights include several large boulders at particularly beautiful vantage points. Sit and simply enjoy the silence. You can learn more about the often endemic vegetation beforehand on the nature trail behind the visitor center. The Cañadas and trail are at an elevation of 2000 meters: so pack a windbreaker, hat, and a drink, as it can quickly get cold or hot. And a hiking pole is a must-have. The trail is well marked with stones along the way - so you don't stray and don't accidentally trample the extremely sensitive environment.

Almost always nice weather, great views and well-marked trails. A must for visitors to Tenerife.
