Heath Trail – without borders

There are many beautiful paths in the Lauerholz and in the Schönberg State Forest in the Palinger Heide. Those who cross the former border between the FRG and the GDR - still clearly recognizable here through the course of the moat - are the most natural. Although the Palinger Heide was largely afforested, you can still find a piece of the original heathland here. Beautiful not only for the heather bloom! Even if the "Green Ribbon" colored in purple is of course particularly worth seeing.
The mostly narrow sandy path peppered with a few small roots can be driven brisk as far as possible. There is also a bench for a rest. Often you can watch the moor at work.

Most beautiful when the heath is in bloom, but otherwise a highly recommended piece of nature. Not always easy to drive due to the sandy path, but it is still fun and the beautiful nature around is worth looking at.
