The path is also easy to ride with small children as it is fairly flat and wide enough. You don't need a mountain bike - a normal bike is no problem either. I would say you should be able to get through even with a racing bike (but I don't ride one!!). A bit "run up" by residents near the Teerhofinsel.

Nevertheless, it is of course a nice transfer route with the MTB, even if a bit boring.
For a change, there are several options for detours directly to the Trave.
When the Trave is flooded, the path is sometimes impassable.
