In front of the upper gate, the so-called Radlträger monument by Peter Kuschel (built in 1994) commemorates the pavement of the thoroughfare that existed until the 1960s. Very nice sculpture, you should definitely take a look at it. The story is also on the blackboard next to the monument.

If you drive through Hahnbach in the direction of Sendenbach, you might be surprised at a sculpture and its meaning in front of the gate on the right. Here is the story:

Before and after the Second World War, foreign cyclists carried their bicycles through Hahnbach in order to protect the bicycle tires because of the pavement. Tires were expensive and difficult to obtain in this bad time. Many different stories were later invented from this fact during the war. The best-known interpretation is: The bicycles were only used by the outside world to make the Hahnbacher derisively and derisively aware of the bumpy pavement of the main street. Hahnbachers usually answered such ridiculous stories with active or "powerful" arguments. Because this was known everywhere, it was not advisable to carry your bike through Hahnbach alone. The bicycle carrier monument, which was erected there in 1994, is a sensible reminder of this. (Text: hahnbach.de)
