The Augusteum Wittenberg, which is well worth seeing, was built as an extension of the University of Leucorea. From the entrance portal of the Augusteum, where you can find quotations from Luther on the ceiling, you reach the inner courtyard, where the botanical garden of the university used to be, and you can see Martin Luther's former home. Today the building houses the Reformation History Museum and its extensive collections of pictures, writings and exhibits from the Reformation period. Since 1996, the Luther House, which was officially called the Luther Hall until then, has been part of the Reformation sites in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
