Barracks were built here after the city fortifications were dismantled. After the war, the area was claimed by the Russians for a long time and was sealed off.
Today the administration of Wittenberg is located in the renovated brick building. Open to the public, of course - walking through the building is also normal during opening hours.
The surrounding area is currently being upgraded for the State Garden Show 2027 - one can be curious.
