The Evangelical Lutheran listed church of St. Cosmas and Damian is located in Rautenberg, a district of the municipality of Harsum in the Hildesheim district of Lower Saxony.

The hall church was built in 1431 from quarry stones as a manor church for the Lords of Rautenberg, who also owned the church patronage. It was built in the 18th/19th centuries. century changed. The slightly retracted choir was added in 1456. Its interior originally had a cross vault, which collapsed in 1684. Since then it has been covered with a flat wooden barrel vault. The walls of the nave were aligned with those of the choir in 1489. The square church tower, in which two church bells hang, stands in the west; its pointed eight-sided helmet was only added to it in 1863. Its ground floor is covered with a cross vault. The extension in the south with the entrance was the former mortuary.

The interior was redesigned in the first half of the 1950s. The barrel vault of the choir was extended over the nave, which previously had a flat ceiling. The L-shaped galleries on the west and north sides were removed. For this purpose, a slightly U-shaped gallery was created in the west, the parapet of which consists of balusters.

The altarpiece from 1766 has a picture of the crucifixion between two twisted columns, above which there is a figure of the risen Christ in the blown gable. The Last Supper of Jesus is shown in the predella. The church furnishings also include a late Gothic baptismal font and a baroque altar. The organ with 11 registers, distributed over a manual and an attached pedal, was built in 1765 by Johann Conrad Müller.
