During the initial occupation of the construction site in December 1985, Stefan Preisl, a visual artist from Burglengenfeld, created a figure of Christ out of wood in three days of work and in the bitter cold and nailed it by the hands and feet to a ten-meter-high spruce cross, which was erected with the help of numerous helpers . On December 31, 1985, the sculpture was finally consecrated during the New Year's Eve party in the first hut village.
