From December 26 to 29, 1985, the wood sculptor Stefan Preisl from Burglengenfelder made a 1.60 m Christ statue on a ten-meter-high spruce cross, which was set up in the second anti-WAA hut village "Freies Wackerland" in the Taxölderner Forst. The consecrated crucifix stood for a week. During the evacuation of the hut village on January 7, 1986, the crucifix was sawn off by the police and carried away. A police constable oversaw his dignified transportation. The Christ figure returned shortly thereafter was brought by protesters to the Franciscan Marterl. On the night of February 20, 1986, the figure of Christ disappeared. The left-behind broken hands were hung next to the newer cross of Wackersdorf.
