"... On the left bank of the Düssel River, 350 m west of the Thunis farm and 320 m southwest of the Winkel farm, stands the Winkelsmühle, which has been documented since 1483.

The mill building is situated directly below a projecting rock face on the north side of the valley. The former millrace and the current course of the Düssel were hewn into the underlying limestone. The existing weir has been modernized. Remnants of the old course of the Düssel can be found on the steep bank, on the southern and western sides of the valley, in the form of a pond.

The mill building is a three-story rubble stone structure with a two-story extension on the left side. This section is constructed of rubble stone only on the ground floor; the upper floor is timber-framed. The farm buildings opposite are modern.

After a fire, the mill building underwent extensive renovation in 1971. Further alterations were carried out in 1996.
