A wooden bridge over the Spree existed before 1669. It was renovated in 1855 and rebuilt as a stone bridge in 1890 due to the canal widening. During World War II, the bridge was blown up by German soldiers. In 2001, the current wooden bridge (New Flood Bridge) was built on its new site. It connects the flood meadows with the meadows from the Spreebogen to Lake Kersdorf, known as Rehagen.

Beautiful bridge over the Spree.
Be careful, huge bollards.
Beautiful views, near the Kersdorf lock.

There is hardly a cyclist on the Spree Cycle Path who doesn’t take a photo at this beautiful wooden bridge 😉
