Also called the bridge of the Black Virgin, the old bridge of Seyssel is a suspension bridge over the Rhône built between 1838 and 1840. A statue of the Virgin, protector of boatmen, appears at the top of the middle pier of the bridge.

The "Pont de la Vierge noire" connects the eastern and western halves of Seyssel and thus Haute-Savoie with the Ain department. It was built in 1838. The statue of Notre-Dame-du-Rhône can be admired on its pylon in the middle of the Rhône.
