The Waschsee is located near the center of Iffeldorf and is the southernmost lake in a chain of small lakes in the Osterseengebiet. The lakes are fed by groundwater from a whole series of spring funnels and diffuse inlets, which are mainly located in the southern area on or in the Wasch, Schiffhütten, Seng and Großer Ostersee.
