Walthamstow Marsh Nature Reserve is one of the last remaining pieces of London’s river valley grasslands and has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There are lots of paths to explore around the park and birds of prey such as buzzards and peregrine falcons can be observed. Two of Britain’s rarest plants, creeping marshwort and brookweed, also thrive in the reserve.

In 1909, the first all-British powered flight took place over the marshes.
