Neptune, the god of the sea, watches over the Kiel Canal with a stern gaze at the height of the Rendsburg pedestrian tunnel. Sculptor Karlheinz Goedtke created the bronze sculpture on a tall, slim stele for the inauguration of the tunnel in the mid-1960s.
