A village of Lewis Isle, Port of Ness enjoys great beaches with expansive views over the sea. Here, you will find a 19th century harbour and boathouse. Tradition is still alive in the village: every year since the 16th century, men for the village have sailed into the Atlantic Ocean to collect young gannets for food (this is now licensed by the Scottish government).
