Please note that at present the bridge to Dùn Èistean is CLOSED until further notice, whilst structural repairs are awaited.

A multi archaeological period site on a sea stack off the coast of northern Lewis. The current remains of buildings dates to the Clan Morrison period of the 16th to 18th century, but it's expected that underneath these remains lie older Nordic and earlier remains. The stack has an artificial fresh water pond so it would have been a perfectly suited strong hold able to hold its own in times of conflict.
It's connected to the mainland by a bridge which makes a great adventure.
