An organ had been in the Ulrichskirche since 1675. The baroque facade of this Förner organ is still preserved on the west gallery of the building.

The current concert organ in the apse of the Ulrichskirche was built in 1980 by the company W. Sauer Orgelbau (Frankfurt/O.). The instrument has 56 registers (including a transmission) on three manuals and a pedal and enables the performance of a wide range of organ literature from different eras.[3] Anna-Victoria Baltrusch has been the titular organist of the organ since 2022.

The Ulrichskirche was first consecrated in 1496, but not completed until 1531. Since 1976 it has been used as a concert hall.
