The castle was first mentioned in records around 1100. The castle is built in horseshoe shape, with the two wings connected to a bastion. The facility is built on rocks. The castle probably served as Knight or Raubritterburg; There are several in the area. The first castle owners were the stewards of Sulzbach. Around 1167 Gottfried Dapifer is mentioned as owner. 1502 "Derer von Redwitz" is granted the brewing right. Baron von Stromer was the last stately owner to sell it to Holnsteiner Bürger in 1853. In 1939, Georg Behringer bought the brewery for his son Andreas, who soon brought the business to full bloom. Later, Maria Behringer handed over the brewery to her daughter Karola. Karola and Franz Haberler built a new brewhouse, modernized fermentation and storage cellar, bottle and barrel filling. End of September 2017, the brewing company was set.
