The Pariser Platz is a square created during the city expansion in 1734 at the end of the boulevard Unter den Linden in Berlin's Mitte district of the district of the same name. Destroyed in World War II, it lay in the border area of the divided city from 1961 to 1989 and was then rebuilt. On the western edge of the square square is the Brandenburg Gate by Carl Gotthard Langhans.
