  • The old train station is privately owned and can be viewed from outside with the train. 100 meters further there are benches to linger and the beer garden at platform 3.

  • Pfalzfeld train station in km 29.0
The Pfalzfeld train station is beautifully situated above the village of Pfalzfeld. The track system corresponded completely to the architectural style like Alterkülz, Ebschied and Lingerhahn. There is also a beautiful water tower above the train station.
The station building (middle station building) is a little larger than on the other stations of the Hunsrück Railway between Simmern and Boppard. The building can also be found in Windesheim, Argenthal, Sohren or Hirschfeld. But the construction plan was also used on the Nahe, in Niederhausen. Two water cranes completed the picture from 1906 onwards. Further facts: Pfalzfeld is the highest point of the Hunsrück Railway Simmern - Boppard and around 1900 the village of Pfalzfeld was the second largest village on the entire route. Also noted in 1906 are entry signals and a mechanical barrier on the Pfalzfeld - Lingerhahn road in the station area. An old picture (see picture gallery) clearly shows the crate in front of the goods handling area, which protected the signal box from wind and weather until around 1950. After the opening of Kastellaun-Pfalzfeld on October 1st, 1906, the trains from Simmern ended in Pfalzfeld. At the same time, construction continued after Boppard.
