Wolfram Eschenbach has apparently done a lot to preserve the city walls and their towers. It's wonderful that, in these modern and fast-moving times, investments are also being made in preserving these special buildings!

The counterpart to the upper gate is this smaller yet "mighty" lower gate.

The functions of Lake Altmühl in Bavaria are diverse: It serves to regulate water management, as a temporary reservoir for the Danube-Main system, to raise the Altmühl's low water levels, and for flood protection. At the same time, it is an important destination for tourism and recreation, offering activities such as sailing, swimming, and cycling, as well as an important sanctuary for waterfowl, particularly the "Bird Island" in the north of the lake. The cycle path around the lake is largely separated from pedestrians. Almost 100% paved. There are three lake centers with numerous restaurants.

The bike paths throughout the Franconian lake district are excellent. Not only in terms of the surface, but also in terms of signage and the frequent separation from pedestrians. Unfortunately, many pedestrians are unable to understand the traffic signs. A bike path is only for those who cycle, not for pedestrians! Dear pedestrians, no one would think of walking on the road.
