With this wonderful weather, you're simply drawn to the beautiful places in our homeland. The interplay of forest and beach in the middle of the nature reserves is simply beautiful. 🤩

Today we got a good dose of fresh air at Schönberger Strand. To give us a little extra motivation, a fish stall was already open, so we stopped briefly for a fish sandwich – really delicious 😋. The offshore wind today gave us quite a good blast, but the sun and blue sky more than made up for it.

Following the traces of prehistory with its long barrows, also known as giant's beds, through forests, meadows, and the rolling hills of the Holstein Switzerland region. The weather was also on our side this morning (thank you 🙏), we didn't get a single drop of rain on our hike. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

Unfortunately, today's hike didn't go as planned. After we'd covered about 30 to 40% of the route, the forest roads were suddenly closed. We hiked around the Großer Eutiner See (Great Eutin Lake) in glorious weather. Our starting point was Eutin Castle, which is also open to visitors (note: it's closed in February for extensive cleaning). Today I checked the remaining snow and whether the forest is passable again. It looks good, although the ban on entering the forest a few days ago was justified due to the heavy snow load on the trees. A lot of branches have broken off 😞. It was lovely to hike through nature again. 🥾

The sun lured us out from behind the stove once again. Ahrensburg Castle shone brightly in the sunshine. We continued along the beautiful floodplain trail, which today even featured some mystical elements with fog and hoarfrost. A fantastic hike that we will definitely do again at a different time of year.
