Potsdam is indeed a beautiful and varied city, but we find the parks in and around the city much more beautiful. The view from the tower of the Nikolai Church is nice, but €7 is quite expensive. What was surprising for us was that there were relatively few people at the sights.

Today Oderberg on the old Oder was on the list. I did my practical vocational training here from 1971-1974. The company can no longer be found and the region is not doing particularly well either. Our 1st hike on our autumn trip went to Marienwerder in the canal triangle. I was last here about 50 years ago and a few memories came back to me, but 50 years is 2 generations, and then another turn. As always, everything will be fine, nothing will be better.
