Wainmans Pinnacle - Lunds Tower on Earls Crag from Keighley to Steeton and Silsden

Set off time: 7:28 - 11:07 AM Hike: 19 KM BPM 126 Elevation 475 Weather / humidity 3, 90% Average pace KM 11:31 Fastest KM 8:24 Slowest KM 17:28 Overall time 3:40:00 Calories burned 1700 Hike No. 69 It started pretty great in all fairness, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping, about 7 KM in the path became muddy wet and super boggy, I trudged along to the pinnacle and it got worse from there to Lunds Tower, got water in my shoes but luckily I wore my new Salomon Speedcross GTX 6 which were a delight and kept my feet warm, instead of looping around I decided to make my way to Steeton thereby completing two train stops so I can’t complain, the wind made my hands fairly cold so it was smarter to make my way down then to continue through the wet fields, 1 more hike for this year and the total shall be 70, I best make it a nice one and bring adequate gloves as a reminder, my body is hit and miss in terms of feeling but why should that stop me, I don’t have much going for me at the moment so it would’ve been a shame to waste another opportunity.

Set off time: 6:46 AM - 10:47 AM Hike: 19.2 KM BPM 132 Elevation 470 m Weather / humidity 4, 95% Average pace KM 12:20 Fastest KM 8:24 Slowest KM 16:23 Overall time 4:00:00 Calories burned 1900 A great hike, I have had a fever since Saturday evening and today it was still prevalent, after the first 10 KM I didn’t feel too good I think jogging the first KM wasn’t the wisest idea but it warmed me up before the moor so in hindsight it still worked out well, I was surprised that it wasn’t as boggy as it can be around the moors, due to the wind and rain we’ve had the past week, I am blessed to have walked the route entirely solo, there was really not a soul in sight and it was needed, nature my recluse and the landscapes here are always top tier, it’s a delight that my health continues to withstand the challenges I have had, this year has been unforgiving in many senses, yet here I am still tackling a challenge, preparing myself for the long road that lies ahead, it was lovely too see pendle hill in the distance, rylestone cross and many more peaks that I’ve visited even the three peaks glaring in the distance before I made the turn a few KM before the reservoir, I missed the castle at the beginning due to the darkness however on the way back I made the same journey and it was truly amazing and beautiful, serene doesn’t describe it, that’s another hike in the books 📕 I also saw two llamas 🦙 which I really didn’t expect and surpsingly haven’t seen before, nature never disappoints and the bird sounds, the slight haze and the opening of the sky made me feel peaceful im glad to have stepped out this morning 🌅

Predicted: 6hr 54 min - 15 miles - 1750 ft Set off time: 8:19 - 1:07 Hike: 23 KM BPM 134 Elevation 751 m Weather / humidity 2, 75% Average pace KM 11:53 Fastest KM 7:25 Slowest KM 20:55 Overall time 4:33:35 Calories burned 2400 What a lovely hike, there was a lot of manoeuvring near the clough broken trees moor like territory however worse I would definitely say! I kept a great pace for the first 10 KM as the path eroded and vanished so did my time, but making the first 10 efficient made the scramble up and down chrome hill seem not so bad, I have become really adjusted and find this my normal now, 2000 meters of elevation in two days, it’s another achievement for me and I don’t think I’ll will be stopping, if my health remains intact. The walk was serene quiet and bright and good for acclimatising to the new weather we will be blessed with soon :) Spoke to a lovely old woman she told me about her travels and glacier walks, chitral, Burma, Nepal - inhumane options given to her daughter in law, her son did anthropology his book - globalisation of Central Asia - he walked the sheep road in china from Tibet to china 🇨🇳 She said I knew you were a mountaineer just by looking hehe that made me smile the art of conversation she has mastered and she was intrigued to know where I was from. also gave an important anecdote i myself know to be true - rural mentality - small minds

10/10 hike — absolutely brilliant. One of my favourite hikes of all time. The entire route felt like a walk in the park — cruising effortlessly from start to finish. Easily the slowest-paced hike I’ve ever done, but also the most richly documented. We absorbed everything, digested every moment, and experienced the trail in its purest form. All seasons arrived in a single day: mist, rain, wind, sunshine, and even a rainbow. Terrain was mostly forest, with landslides, village paths, rolling hills, and open moorland. Key highlights: endless forests, flowing streams, waterfalls, Stoodley Pike monument, and Withens Clough Reservoir. Wildlife encounters were constant — swans, sheep, cows, goats, ducks, dogs, squirrels, roosters, and even two deer sprinting through the forest. An old plane flew overhead by the reservoir, making the atmosphere feel cinematic. My favourite parts were the chaotic and funny ones: me and Ghosted Survivor sliding everywhere, two cows suddenly charging at us which had us sprinting away in laughter, and even getting the chance to pet a few sheep for the first time. Those moments summed up the hike perfectly — unpredictable, entertaining, and unforgettable. This hiking experience literally had everything in one: scenery, weather, wildlife, comedy, peace, and purpose. No pressure on pace, no train to catch, no rush — just walking slowly, talking, and taking each step as it came. We even prayed outside twice facing the valley, which added a peaceful touch to an already perfect day. A one-of-a-kind hike — shared with the companion, Ghosted Survivor! 8th November (Saturday) 08:05 - 15:50 Total Distance: 21.3KM Avg Speed: 4km/h Avg Pace KM: 15min/km Fastest KM: 14:09 Slowest KM: Unknown Avg BPM: 121 Max BPM: 192 Ascent: 900 m Weather: 11°C, 85% Humidity Total Calories Burned: 2,127
