Kermeter - Abtei Mariawald - Schwammenauel
Heute fuhren wir wieder mit dem Bus zum Kermeter, um von dort zur Abtei Mariawald und weiter durch das Herbstbach- und Steinbachtal nach Schwammenauel zu wandern. In der Klostergaststätte genossen wir natürlich auch die legendäre überregional bekannte Erbsensuppe, die es auch als vegetarische Version gibt. Auf dem Weg mussten auch drei kleine Bäche überquert werden, die über den Weg flossen; das war aber ohne Probleme machbar.

Heimbach mit Burg Hengebach
Heute sind wir auf dem Dschungelpfad am Staubecken Heimbach entlang zur Burg Hengebach und dann weiter durch Heimbach und Hasenfeld zurück zum Rursee gelaufen. Der Aufstieg zur Burg ist sehr steil. Es gibt allerdings auch einen Aufzug zur Burg hoch, der war aber heute defekt. Today we walked along the jungle path at the Heimbach reservoir to Hengebach Castle and then continued through Heimbach and Hasenfeld back to the Rursee. The ascent to the castle is very steep. Rursee mit Schifffahrt
Heute sind wir mit dem Schiff bis zum Anleger Eschauel gefahren und dann am Rursee entlang zurück nach Schwammenauel gelaufen.

Stauanlage Heimbach – Blick auf Burg Hengebach Runde von Schwammenauel
Heute sind wir um das Staubecken Heimbach gelaufen. An einer Seite sind viele Felsen und es geht meist senkrecht hoch. Dort verläuft nur ein schmaler Uferpfad am See entlang, teilweise über viele Wurzeln und teilweise, an Stellen, wo gar kein Weg möglich ist, über Holzstege.

Today we walked around the Heimbach reservoir. On one side there are many rocks and it goes up almost vertically. There, only a narrow shore path runs along the lake, partly over many roots and partly, in places where no path is possible, over wooden walkways.

Wilder Kermeter - 2x Wildnis für alle - Nationalpark Eifel
Heute waren wir im Kermeter, einem Bergrücken im Nationalpark Eifel zwischen Gemünd und Heimbach. Dort gibt es einen barrierefreie Natur-Erlebnisraum mit einem barrierefreien Wegenetz. Die Wege sind nicht nur eben, der An- oder Abstieg beträgt aber höchstens 8 %. Auf dem Naturerkundungspfad "Der Wilde Weg" informieren 10 meist interaktive Stationen unter anderem über Wildnis, Waldentwicklung und die biologische Vielfalt im Nationalpark Eifel. Today we took the bus to Kermeter again to hike from there to Mariawald Abbey and continue through the Herbstbach and Steinbachtal valleys to Schwammenauel. In the monastery restaurant, we naturally also enjoyed the legendary, regionally known pea soup, which is also available in a vegetarian version
